It is all about the Hat, Red Hat that is. This note card was inspired by a graphic sent to me by one of my customers. As you can see, the Red Hat above is apparently made of real roses. A butterfly has landed and bees are buzzing around it.

RED HAT TEA PARTY with HATTITUDE

I am especially proud of this Note Card. It shows a Grandmother and Granddaughter enjoying a tea party while dressed in their regalia. Grandma in purple with a Red Hat and Granddaughter in lavender with a Pink Hat. Even the granddaughter's dolly is appropriately dressed for the occasion. Red Hats appear on the tea pot and tea cups and on the rug under them. On the wall is proclaimed the reason for the tea-- Hattitude. Hattitude is what women have who want to gather together and have fun while wearing Red Hats (Pink for those under 50)

YOUR PET IN FINE ART

This check book cover is Van Gogh's 1888 painting, Bedroom In Arles to which I have added a Beagle. I saw some posters for sale that had added pets to famous paintings. I thought well why not checkbook covers. This concept has been one of my most popular checkbook covers. I have added Pug Dogs, Cocker Spaniels, a French Bulldog, and even a Skunk.

On the back of the checkbook cover appears "I am the proud owner of a (in this case) BEAGLE" Further personalization is available for a small fee.

I have several Van Gogh paintings in my clip art collection, so can put your pet in many different Fine Art paintings. Starry Night has already been used to showcase a pet, and I also use Starry Night as the example in an auction, with Ragdoll Cats in the picture.

PADLOCKED CHECKBOOK HOLDER

Speaking of money, here is the checkbook cover that tickles my fancy. I came across a photo of an old weathered shed with an old rusty padlock holding the door closed and the contents safe. I had to make a checkbook cover insert. What better way to remind yourself to spend your money wisely then a padlock on the front of your checkbook. I think the picture almost has a trump loy effect. I can almost see myself stepping up and putting the key right in that padlock and unlocking it. The weathered door with it's padlocked opening goes right on through the back of the cover, to complete the design on both sides.

SINGING FROGS WANT MONEY

I have among my saved free clipart, this picture of the three frogs standing in a pound, two singing while the third directs, but there were no words. Since this is a checkbook insert, what better song to sing then this one. "The best things in life are free. But you can give them to the birds and bees. I Want Money!"

What I think adds to the amusement of the frogs singing about wanting money is what is on the back of the check book cover. As you can see from the picture above, the birds nesting on the money bag and the bees swarming above, have the money.

GREEN DRAGONFLIES

These green dragonflies are our second best seller. My husband suggested a dragonfly check book holder when I first begin this project, but I did not realize how popular dragonflies are until they started selling quickly.

This design is similar to a small painting on a ceramic tile we have. However, I used a scan of a huge dragonfly my husband found. It was so large, I would be afraid to come across one that was still alive. It was beautiful, though. I added the scan to a background, and arranged two mirror image copies as you see above, colored and textures to come up with a finished design.

This is our most popular design. This is a Thomas John original. It is a design carved and painted on a small wooden table top sitting in our living room. With the permission of the artist, I took a picture of it and turned it into a checkbook cover. THE MAGENTA DRAGONFLY

Found this beautiful picture of a Magenta colored dragonfly. Wanted to make the picture look as if emerging from the page. Two of the gossamer wings float out of the picture and the bottom left edge is made of green smoke that flows to fill the entire checkbook cover insert with color. Simple design yet striking, I think. What is your opinion?

LOVE ME LOVE MY RED HAT

I started my own Red Hat Chapter, The Purple Stars. I am Queen Sue, Queen of Stars. If you are in the Macomb County Michigan area, you are welcome to join us at our next luncheon meeting. I saw this phrase in print, so decided to add a silhouette wearing purple with a Red Hat. As she does not have any features except her hat, that is the only thing you can love about this lady. She sure has Hattitude!

CAT AND MOUSE

This checkbook cover is in a more comical vein. The cat is the front of the cover and the mouse is the back. Neither one, therefore knows the other is there. That is why they both look content against the flowered bordered background. This checkbook is especially nice for personalization as there is a lot of open space. Let me know what you think.

A ZEBRA OF COLOR

In this checkbook design, I think the yellow check pattern intruding into the space of the colorful and different zebra with dull normal black and white zebra's in the background is striking. This design is one of my favorites and was fun to compose. What do you think?
